CAVALO DE MADEIRA

Our guesthouse in Arelho, situated in the idyllic nature reserve Lagoa of Óbidos, is a story of resurrection. The once derelict old farmhouse and winery still breathes the spirit of the past, whilst being abundant with new life: the still-intact wine tanks and press inspired us to create both a creative children’s play area, and a spacious lounge for our guests. 

The use of locally produced and natural materials, with wooden floors and cork being some the main design-elements, allows for an ultimately modern, yet cosy and simultaneously rustic feel of the three brand new double or family rooms and the separately alloted studio. 

Guests are also welcome to chill out in the newly established bio-pool or steam up in the sauna and hot tub. All of course with breathtaking views over the lagoa and the atlantic sea.
